Experience
John Pence has been affiliated with Schifman Remley Associates (SRA) since 1998
after spending over 15 years in the health care industry. He served as the Practice
Administrator for Mid-America Cardiology from 1982 through 1993. In that capacity,
among other things, he was responsible for the evaluation and purchase of all
insurance coverage for the individual physicians, employees and practice.
Since he became involved with SRA, John has worked with all types of businesses
on their insurance needs but the vast majority of his clients are in health care.
He works with numerous physician groups on their employee benefits, medical malpractice
insurance and their general and special property/casualty coverage.
Through SRA, he has handled the insurance needs for two local physician-owned
IPAs including Directors and Officers and Managed Care Errors and Omission coverage.
He has also handled the provider-excess insurance coverage for one of the IPAs taking
global risk from a national carrier.

On numerous occasions John has spoken on insurance issues at meetings of
Greater Kansas City Medical Managers Association, Northland Medical Managers
Association and Kansas Medical Group Management Association. He has also published
articles in the Greater Kansas City Medical Managers and Northland Medical Managers
Association newsletters, as well as The IPA Association of America Journal.
